How to use it
The dock schedule is laid out for the tablet at the gate. It also works on a phone.
- Doors by time. One row per dock door (reefer, dry, hazmat, oversize, general) across the day, with a now-line. Use Today, the date picker and the arrows to move between days, and the door filter to narrow it down.
- Appointments show the time, truck id, customer and status: Planned, In progress, Completed or Delayed.
- Moving an appointment. Dispatchers can move an appointment to another door or time. Once the truck is checked in it stays put.
- Truck details. Tap an appointment to see the door, scheduled time, check-in, linked shipment, destination, driver and phone, trailer, temperature range and notes. The Activity tab is the history of that appointment.
- Check-in and check-out. When the driver arrives, check them in (gate, ID verified). When they leave, check them out. The database won't accept a check-out without a check-in, or one that's earlier than the check-in.
Integrations
The Integrations page in Docks lists the connectors below and the status of each. Owners and admins connect them; everyone else sees them read-only. Every connector is a mock in this build. See Connections for auth and plans.
- TomTom Traffic · Traffic and ETAs. Live traffic, so dock arrival times move before the truck is late.
- Google Calendar · Calendars. Carrier booking requests from a shared calendar.
- Samsara · Truck telematics. Truck GPS and engine status from your own fleet.
- Zebra scanners · Scanning. Handheld scans at the dock and in the aisles.
- Twilio · Messaging. SMS to drivers, and their replies back into the thread.
